Horses with photos will be listed first, then horses without photos, be sure to check both when looking for parents as some of the older horses don't have photos and might be what you're looking for. :)

Definition of the Quarter Horse

An attractive, compact horse of kind disposition and good conformation, with massive powerful quarters, strong shoulders, and a short muscular back. Average height is 15 h.h. It's intelligence and great agility make it an excellent breed for working cattle or as an overall pleasure horse. (source Encyclopedia of the Horse, 1993)

These heavily muscled, compact horses could run a short distance over a straightaway faster than any other horse, and the fastest were called Celebrated American Quarter Running Horses by English colonists in the 1600s. In 1940 a registry was formed to preserve the breed which officially became the American Quarter Horse.

There are 16 recognized colors of American Quarter Horses including the most prominent color of sorrel (brownish red). The others are bay, black, brown, buckskin, chestnut, dun, red dun, gray, grullo, palomino, red roan, blue roan, bay roan, perlino and cremello. - source AQHA website

    Rules for my S/D Listing

    Please note: All the horses listed on these pages are MODELS. That's right, plastic/resin/ect horse shaped objects that stand anywhere from 8 inches to 3 inches high. So if you're looking for a real living, breathing stallion you'll have to look elsewhere for the moment OR click here if you're looking for a purebred black arab stallion. :) Also note: While browsing these pages you may come across colors that you were told don't exist in the breed you're looking at. I am well aware of most of them so please refrain from emailing me and demanding I change them. If you don't like them don't use them, I've researched them and what I've found was satisfactory enough for me to leave them. Thanks.
